Recorded at home over the course of 2021 and 2022, Mos'ly Def is a collection of hazily recalled fingerstyle American primitive semi-originals and quasi-covers, honed over decades with a side-eyed laser focus. John Fahey appears multiple times throughout the set as a spiritual guide, covers of Jorma Kaukonen and Robert Johnson are also highlights. Mos'ly Def is the sound of sitting by a river in 1974 and playing acoustic guitar along with the rhythmic sounds of a distant water pump until suddenly it's 2022. Enjoy -- and stay tuned for I. Fader's next album which (rumor has it), promises to contain significantly more "contemporary" covers. There's nothing he can't pull off with 6 strings...
